Project
The brief was to engage and inspire visitors at the WWT Slimbridge centre to garden more sustainably. I felt that using traditional, large, interpretation panels around the Sustainable Garden would dominate and obscure the garden. Seeing fallen or cut trees around the centre I came up with the idea of using logs, as focal points to tell our story. Each log had large, printed text on top of it and A4 ‘gardeners notes’ attached to it providing information. This was a cheaper, more appropriate and interesting alternative to normal interpretation panels. I designed and wrote all the text for the exhibition, which was so successful that it was rolled out to other WWT visitor centres.
